Privacy policy

11Prime (“we”, “us”) provides 11+ exam preparation video lessons, worksheets, practice papers and a parent community at 11prime.co.uk. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have — in plain English rather than legal boilerplate. We are the data controller for the purposes of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who this applies to

11Prime accounts are created and controlled by a parent or guardian. We don't knowingly let a child create their own account, sign up, or hand over their own contact details — a parent adds their child's first name, year group and exam type from inside the parent's own dashboard, so that we can give that child the right recommended questions and videos.

What we collect

• Your account details — email address and, if you give it, your name. Required to create and secure your account.
• Your child's details — first name, year group and exam type (e.g. GL Assessment, CSSE, independent school), entered by you. Used only to personalise which videos and questions are recommended, and to show progress on your dashboard.
• Progress and answer data — which videos have been watched and which worksheet questions were answered correctly or incorrectly. Used to adjust question difficulty and show readiness on the dashboard.
• Purchase information — which courses, packs or membership you've bought. Payment card details are entered directly into Stripe, our payment processor, and never reach our own servers.
• Forum posts — anything you choose to post in the parent forum is visible to other members and stored against your account.
• Free-resource and newsletter sign-ups — if you use a free tool (like the school finder or placement check) without creating a full account, we store the email address and any year group/exam type you give us, so we can send the resource and related tips if you opted in.
• Technical data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) kept briefly for security and fault-finding.

What we don't do

• • We don't sell your or your child's data to anyone.
• • We don't run advertising trackers or behavioural ad targeting on the site.
• • We don't use your child's data for anything beyond their own learning experience on 11Prime.

Who we share data with

We use a small number of service providers to run 11Prime, each acting as a processor on our instructions:

• • Supabase — hosts our database, authentication and file storage.
• • Stripe — processes payments; we never see or store full card numbers.
• • Our video hosting provider — streams lesson and walkthrough videos.
• • Our email delivery/marketing provider (where used) — sends account emails and, if you've opted in, tips and offers.

We don't share data with anyone else except where the law requires it.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and your checkout working — these can't be switched off, as the site won't function without them. Any optional cookies (for example, to understand how the site is used) are only set if you accept them in the cookie banner.

How long we keep data

We keep account and progress data for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterwards in case you return. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we're required to keep records (for example, transaction records for tax purposes).

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you can ask us to: give you a copy of the data we hold about you and your child; correct it if it's wrong; delete it; restrict or object to how we use it; or move it elsewhere. To make a request, email us (details below) — we'll respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you think we've mishandled your data.
